" i've certainly got a compatible CPU. checking, xm dmesg | grep -i svm (XEN) AMD SVM: ASIDs enabled. (XEN) HVM: SVM enabled (XEN) AMD SVM: ASIDs enabled. xen says SVM's enabled. but, grep -i svm /proc/cpuinfo returns (empty) this manifests itself (?) in 64-bit, non-pae, hvm xen domu guest installs not finding a compatible "64-bit" CPU. pae=0 in xen HVM cfg, then an install of Win7/64 fails @, win7 Virtual Machine Console Windows Boot Manager File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe Status: 0xc000035a Info: Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode seraching, locate svm /usr/src/linux-2.6.27.7-9/arch/x86/kvm/kvm_svm.h /usr/src/linux-2.6.27.7-9/arch/x86/kvm/svm.c /usr/src/linux-2.6.27.7-9/arch/x86/kvm/svm.h seems to imply that svm support is available for kvm, but no trace in xen ..
