No, I've never used that. I've double-checked in various locations (KDE3/4
login managers, Yast sysconfig and some configuration files) that auto-login
hasn't been enabled anywhere.
Is there any possibility that it's purely a timing-related problem, i.e. kdm
attempts to start too quickly? I read another bug that had this issue but the
solution was to change a session timeout line in a config file which doesn't
exist at all in my own file. However, that wouldn't explain why 'startkde'
commands don't work. I only wondered because the GUI logins have been a bit
more frequent in recent days but there's no logical pattern to them, unless
some disk tidying has resulted in it responding faster.
