https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=465790 Summary: Wrong java-plugin used in Firefox Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 2 Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Java AssignedTo: bnc-team-java@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: cbj@touristonline.dk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008121300 SUSE/3.0.5-1.1 Firefox/3.0.5 After updating java-sun via YaST Online Update entering pages with applet freezes Firefox. Apparently Sun has developed a new Firefox plugin for Java 1.6u10+, but OpenSuse's rpms still uses the old one which is broken in 1.6u10+. I think it's only a question of correct packaging. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/sun-java/+bug/288397 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install or update to java-sun-1.6.0u11 via YaST Online Update 2.Go to any website which uses a applet like http://www.valutakurser.dk 3. Actual Results: Firefox freezes and needs to be killed. Expected Results: A working stockquote applet. Uninstalling java-sun-1.6.0 and java-sun-1.6.0-plugin and installing java-sun-1.5.0 and java-sun-1.5.0-plugin solves the problem with the above website. But we use java 6 features in other programs and can't do without.. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
