Instead of "module-alsa-sink device=bluetooth" the module "module-bluetooth-device sink_name=btheadset address=00:1B:41:00:06:11 profile=a2dp" can be used . I have tested this and my notes can be found here [1]. To use the BT in openSUSE 11.1 I think it is better to avoid PA and send the output to Alsa directly as I describe in [2], while still having the default sound input/output to/from PA. I know that this does not solve the problem, but I think that the current situation is too complex. Application sends data to Alsa, .asoundrc redirects this to PA and PA module-alsa-sink sends the data to Alsa. We can send the sound data to Alsa directly, or we will use the module-bluetooth-device in PA. There will be another module module-bluetooth-discover in PA 0.9.13 which should automatically configure the BT headset to PA. This fulfills the requirement in Feature request #100301: Easy Setup of Bluetooth Headsets. I do not know where does the Banshee send the output. Is it Alsa or PA? I can not find any Banshee output configuration. I am not sure whether the sound is even directed to the Alsa in the reported setting. The reporter uses ~/.alsarc instead of ~/.asoundrc described in [3].
