Xonar D2 should have been supported for long time, and I'm pretty surprised by
this kind of bug. I'll forward the bug to the author.
BTW, stopping the auto-probing is easy. Just add a line
blacklist snd_virtuoso
to a module config file.
It'd be of course helpful for us if you can try the latest driver version
available at
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/multimedia:/audio:/KMP/alsa-driver...
But if you have no way to restore the damaged hardware by yourself, I can't
recommend it (unless the author can confirm on his machine).
BTW, in some cases, the damage can be simply a BIOS setup. If a cold-reset
doesn't help, try re-initialize the BIOS in BIOS menu. Or, remove the battery
from mobo and wait for a while.
