Stefan, I'm not an expert but I guess there can be quite big differences
between our setups. I have a laptop with GeForce card (as "M" in name suggests)
so there is different connector.
Anyway, this does not help us that much. I'll attach my Xorg.0.log.kde3 so
maybe you can see something there. I've checked both files for differences and
apart from the fact that Xorg.0.log.old is truncated there are only two
differences at lines 315 and 319. These are different addresses for some
registers:
(II) NV(0): MMIO registers mapped at 0xb69cf000 #Xorg.0.log
(II) NV(0): MMIO registers mapped at 0xb68ad000 #Xorg.0.log.old
(II) NV(0): Linear framebuffer mapped at 0xaeacf000 #Xorg.0.log
(II) NV(0): Linear framebuffer mapped at 0xae9ad000 #Xorg.0.log.old
I don't know if these addresses are deterministic and should be always the
same, though.
I think we shouldn't ignore the fact that sysinfo:/ does not work with nv
driver. Could it be another aspect of the same issue or just something
unimplemented in nv driver that makes sysinfo:/ to fail?
