Stefan,

I've just tried to reproduce my problem in order to generate Xorg.0.log.old you
have requested. Unfortunately, it looks like I cannot reproduce that problem
any more. I've tried switching to nv by editing xorg.conf and logging into KDE4
again.

It logged in without any problems and sysinfo:/ works as well. I have no idea
what have fixed this issue since I haven't done anything apart from installing
nvidia driver.

Could it be that nvidia-settings changed my xorg.conf in a way that fixed nv
driver as well?

If you can suggest me anything I'm ready to try but if there is no suggestion
then I guess we will have to close this bug report. :-(
