A side comment:
I would very much appreciate a higher priority. The potential for data loss is
very high. I have full backups of all important data, but there's no guarantee
that I'll be able to restore it all, especially if the restore process triggers
1 or more drive "failures".
Another note is that /dev/md0, the 100MB raid 1 volume does not react badly to
the IO error, and does not become degraded when /dev/md1 does.
Also, I did not have the same problems, or any problems at all with 10.3 and
11.0 on the same hardware.
