--- Comment #3 from Rashmi Ranjan Mohanty 2008-12-22 13:05:20 MST ---
I had a SLED10 SP2 system in which I used to use
vmware-workstation/vmware-player.
Now I freshly installed opensuse 11.1 formatting the / partition, but retaining
the /home partition. So my old user home directories of SLE10 were intact. But
since this was a new installation, there were no old vmware packages installed.
In opensuse 11.1 I created same user and re-used the same user home directory.
Then when I logged in as the user, I started getting this slab error whenever I
opened any application in gnome menu. I tried removing .vmware, .gnome*,
gconf* and .gvfs directories, but nothing helped.
I created a new user and when I logged in as the new user, the error
dis-appeared. But as soon as I installed vmware-player, the error started
popping up even for the new user also. Then even though I removed vmare-player
and removed all the vmware configurations, still the error persists.
Hope this will help re-producing and debugging the issue.
The error may be minor and does not cause any functionality break, but its very
irritating and not good for the reputation of such a good release as 11.1
