https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=461012 Summary: Can't set widescreen resolution with ATI X1650 and LG L227WT Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: jens.uhlenbrock@gmx.de QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Customer I just installed openSUSE 11.1. The system does recognize my graphics card and my screen correctly but is not able to display graphics the way it should. When I first logged into my KDE4 desktop, I couldn't see parts of the screen, the left side of it is out of range so it's difficult to navigate in the k-menu. So I started Sax2. The screen usually supports up to 1680x1050 (WSXGA+) but when I tell it to use the option the same thing happens again. The test image that sax2 gives out seems to be fine. But when I save it and try to relogin, the image is again way too wide and does not fit the screen. The same is also true for lower wide-screen resolutions like 1440x900 (WXGA+) or 1280x800 (WXGA). So now I'm using 1400x1050 (SXGA+) since the ATI proprietary driver repo does not yet work for me. This resolution seems to get drawn correctly though, leading to large unused space to the left and right of the desktop because now I'm using a standard resolution on a widescreen TFT. Thanks for helping.
