I tried to reproduce, but it is difficult to say. I've been using the printer
via network instead, so to check this now I have connected it via USB, and got
this in the kernel log:
Dec 19 14:44:15 nimrodel kernel: ehci_hcd 0000:02:02.2: HC died; cleaning up
Dec 19 14:44:15 nimrodel kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: hub_port_status failed (err =
-19)
Dec 19 14:44:15 nimrodel kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: connect-debounce failed, port 4
disabled
Dec 19 14:44:15 nimrodel kernel: hub 2-0:1.0: cannot disable port 4 (err = -19)
And the "HP device manager" says there is a communication error with the
printer. I tried connecting to another USB port, no further kernel messages.
My entire USB subsystem has died, I can't communicate with *any* USB device.
I'll try rebooting :-/
