I happened again, reopening.

nm and syslog both takes that much cpu cause nm writes 11350 lines PER SECOND
to /var/log/NetworkManager, repeating:

Dec 12 17:34:48 dogbert NetworkManager: <WARN> 
nm_error_monitoring_device_link_state(): error monitoring wired ethernet link
state: error occurred while waiting for data on socket

do you want the 2.4G log file it created on a few seconds ?
