Tejun,

I have installed the debug kernel and created a boot log as seen in comment #6.
It still shows "No Device detected". Did your SB600 have the device installed
on /hda?? I am wondering here if the kernel driver is being very picky.
Currently the device is installed as /hdb in slave position. In the past, prior
to openSUSE 11.0, I had an IDE hard drive or a CD/DVD ROM device attached in
master postion on the IDE (PATA) controller.
