https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=456808 Summary: Local display hangs with blacked out after ~15 minutes inactivity Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: michael.kromer@millenux.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Have an IBM (Lenovo) T400, and when I leave the desk for some longer time (~15 minutes), the local display is completely blacked out, and I dont get any possibility to recover from that state. System however responds, and is available from remote SSH (no process obviously consuming too much CPU/RAM/...), however changing screen with chvt or shutting down X with init 3 does not change anything. Even with completely killing everything of the user (killall -u <user> -9) does not change anything. Display is simply not recoverable. It does not (seems so) have to do anything with gnome-screensaver, as my timeout is 5 minutes, and if i return within ~10 minutes, there is no problem, and I get the prompt to login. No energy saving profiles are defined -> no power saving (except from blanking out display) at all. Had opensuse 11.0 x86_64 running on it before, absolutely no problems there. Would like to deliver more, however don't know what could be needed for this.
