I did another default installation of openSUSE 11.1 RC2 now in
Traditional Chinese, selected in linuxrc, choosing a Gnome system
further on in the installation.
At the first login screen presented by gdm, Simplified Chinese was
preselected and after logging in without touching the language
selection combo box, the locale was indeed zh_CN.UTF-8.
