In comment #22 you wrote that I should use
/etc/hal/fdi/information/20thirdparty/
In comment #28 you write that I should use
/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/20thirdparty/
A good example how the HAL stuff always all the time
changes arbitrarily.
Danny,
Which exact directoty should I cerate and use
for my HAL fdi files?
Currently my HAL fdi files are
hplip: /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/70-hpmud.fdi
sane-backends: /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/70-scanner.fdi
yast2-scanner: /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10osvendor/80-scanner.fdi
where the entries in all three fdi files are of the form
<match key="info.subsystem" string="usb_device">
<match key="usb_device.vendor_id" int="0x1a2b">
<match key="usb_device.product_id" int="0x3c4d">
<append key="info.capabilities" type="strlist">scanner</append>
</match>
</match>
</match>
