Same situation here. I use kdm4 and i can't login neither to kde3 nor to kde4
from it. Moreover, <ctrl>+<alt>+<bksp> twice kills kdm4, but it fails to
restart. Doing 'rcxdm restart' from shell as root does not help - it just says
'stopping kdm...' 'starting kdm...' and does not switch to vt7. Manually
killing kdm process and running 'kdm' as root restarts x11 on vt7 and allows to
log in.
