I agree with the closure of this bug report, not because it is fixed per se,
but rather because it is so obscure its not worth the effort fixing. (Nor
indeed worth the effort to raise the bug report - I should not have raised
this).
I have subsequently moved on to different openSUSE versions, and my knowing
that trying to assign a mount to additional partitions in the /home directory
(before the installer has completed its process) will cause a problem is
sufficient knowledge for me not to try this.
Instead it is easy to wait until the install is complete, and then go into yast
partitioner and mark these extra partitions for mounting.
To constantly test for a fix for this is very time consuming. To test requires
one do an installation with the unusual mount setup, then check to see if the
mount fails. If it does, then extract the appropriate log files, and then I
think one then also needs to re-install without the unusual mount setup, to
confirm that the original assessment was the problem. This is about 2 to 3
hours effort (as my test pc is an old pc), for a problem with a simple work
around.
I've also moved on from the earlier beta version, and now have RC1 on my PC, so
the log files are long since gone.
I'll endeavor next time I raise a bug report, to keep "offline" as many log
files as I can (categorized by the bug).
So in summary, I'm happy with the resolution. Apologies for wasting your time.
