https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=450311 Summary: Brightness keys not recognized for Sony Laptop Z-Series Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: zoz@novell.com ReportedBy: michael_denker@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer I have a Sony Laptop VGN-Z590 and cannot use the the brightness controls to set screen brightness. This issue seems related to bug 445095: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=445095 Like described there, using the commands xrandr --output LVDS --set BACKLIGHT_CONTROL native and xbacklight -set n allow me to set the backlight intensity under any desktop environment when using the intel graphics driver (the notebook comes with two graphics cards, intel and nvidia). Unlike in bug 445095, however, there is no output of lshal -m when pressing Fn-F5 or Fn-F6 (brightness down and up respectively). Is there a way I could provide information such that the keycodes for the brightness keys on the Sony Z-series series can be incorporated? (While at it, the sleep button Fn-F12 is not recognized either, albeit it"s not nealy as important). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
