Hi,

one big feature I would like to implement next year is the
possibility to use the logival volume manager on top of one
Linux LVM partition spanning the entire disk. This will allow
real persistent device names as well as a great flexibility
in setting up volumes and filesystems after initial deployment.
Especially the last point is important for OEM vendors

As this is a big change I will setup a branch for kiwi for
this implementation as soon as I'll find the time for it.

* I'm writing to you to get feedback what you think of that
idea if you see problems or if you have related cool ideas
according to this one :-)

* One specific question goes to Alex. Alex do you know whether
our mkinitrd supports root over lvm and if yes is there anything
special required for it to boot up ? Normally a vgscan --mknodes
is enough to reactivate the volume group on boot
