I can confirm this for OpenSUSE 11.1 Beta 5, on a x86_64 architecture, too. The
camera producing the AVI videos which are played fast-forward is an Olympus Mju
8.
The problem occurs also in DigiKam 0.9.4, for instance.
BTW: With the fresh Beta5 I had the same fast-forward playing occured ALSO in
KDE 4.1.3 DragonPlayer (and DigiKam 0.10.0), using as phonon-xine as
phonon-gstreamer.
Installing or updating several codecs from the latest Packman and VideoLAN for
OpenSUSE 11.1 repositories the problem seems to disappear in DragonPlayer with
phonon-gstreamer.
BTW2: I had this problem with OpenSUSE 11.0 and the latest updates also, but
only in KDE 4.1.X.
I'm even not sure what is the failing component or codec.
