- From: bugzilla_noreply@xxxxxxxxxx

- Message-id: <bug-444701-21960@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/>
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=444701
Summary: Network installation of OpenSuSE 11.0 x64 fails due to
rpm problem.
Product: openSUSE 11.0
Version: Final
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0
Status: NEW
Keywords: Install
Severity: Critical
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: marcin.floryan@xxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Community User
This issue relates to network installation (after booting from network boot iso
CD) of OpenSuSE 11.0 using the following repository:
http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/repo/oss/
The installation manager starts correctly and runs up to a point where packages
are being installed. With the very first package to be loaded Yast2 reports an
error returned by rpm of the package file not being found (under /var/cache...)
Using the console to verify the file's existence - the file is indeed located
where rpm is looking for it but the directory contains a space in its name
(openSuSE-11.0-FTP 11.0) and although the space (' ') is escaped (\ ) rpm treat
the file path (upto and after the space) as two different files and thus
obviously cannot find them.
