Summary: System freeze and "hpet increasing min_delta_ns" message
Product: openSUSE 11.0
Version: Final
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Kernel
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: alberto.passalacqua@xxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
Found By: ---

After months of usage of openSUSE 11.0, my laptop (DELL XPS m1330) is unable to
be switched off correctly (freeze when trying to shut it down) and sometimes
freezes during regular use, when running openSUSE 11.0.

I run hardware tests from the vendor, and everything was passed successfully.
While looking at logs, I found the following message (not sure it is related to
the problem, but it is the only thing written before the freeze):

kernel: CE: hpet increasing min_delta_ns to 15000 ns
kernel: CE: hpet increasing min_delta_ns to 22500 nsec

and so on.

Regards,
Alberto
