https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=442052 User rpmcruz@alunos.dcc.fc.up.pt added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=442052#c12 --- Comment #12 from Ricardo Cruz <rpmcruz@alunos.dcc.fc.up.pt> 2008-11-07 08:06:41 MST --- Sorry, but it seems you need to issue "xhost +" before doing "su -"; apparently, in 11.1, the super-user ("root") doesn't have display privileges. You can also just use gnome-su as in comment 9. The gdb trace btw is only useful when you hit the crash. As another FYI, y2base is the real thing: /sbin/yast2 and other scripts are just convenience bootstraps that call y2base with certain arguments. In our case, the live-cd desktop shortcut would call "/sbin/yast2 live-installer" which would in turn call "/usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base live-installer gtk": so we're just calling the latter directly because gdb doesn't interpret shell scripts. (the live-cd shortcut also calls gnome-su as in "gnome-su -- /sbin/yast2 live-installer" and that's what we were missing.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
