[Bug 442375] Workspace, Plasma and other major components do not respond after update.

I have been trying to investigate the problem further.
It would seem that removing the system tray (by editing
kd4/share/config/plasma-apletsrc) removes all mentioned above issues. However
the moment it is added again the system locks up again. Hence the system tray
is unusable.
