I do not understand why. We are not aware of any kABI breakage of any 11.0
update kernel.

This is more or less impossible, since 177.80 drops the support for a lot of
graphics chip (anything belower GeForce 6xxx), so updating to this driver
would result in a desaster for many users.

At least there is some hope for openSUSE 11.1, so that the situation for KDE4
will improve for the future. See Bug #429010.
