The autosuspend needs to be disabled by default, because with autosuspend
enabled, simple POSIX functionality is broken. From 1970 on, "sleep 8h; echo
^G" produced beep after 8 hours. POSIX guarantees this should work. These
defaults break it.
Following Energy Star would be nice, but we can't do it because of the POSIX
stuff. You can try to use my "Sleepy Linux" patches to get this right (detect
machine idleness at kernel level and set RTC wakeup accordingly), but that is
not opensuse11.1 or SLE*11 material.
Before that happens, autosuspend can't be enabled by default.
