Summary: Boot stops scanning drives when acpi is on after kernel
update
Product: openSUSE 10.3
Version: Final
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3
Status: NEW
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Bootloader
AssignedTo: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: bxt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Other
Steps to Reproduce: I didn't try that. But should be:
In openSUSE 10.3 (x86-64) updating from kernel-default 2.6.22.19-0.1 to
2.6.22.12-0.1. (Unfortunately i didn't update my kernel too often.)
Actual Results: Boot stops just before finding the CD drive. See dmesg dump
below. Didn't work with acpi=force either, but boots normal when acpi=off. It's
the same even if the CD drive is disconnected.
Expected Results: Go on even when acpi is enabled.
Build Date & Platform:
Linux dhcppc5 2.6.22.19-0.1-default #1 SMP 2008-10-14 22:17:43 +0200 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
openSUSE 10.3 (x86_64)
Additional Builds and Platforms:
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
Chip: nForce 570 SLI
Additional Information:
dmesg dump:
