Summary: Cannot manually create swap partition
Product: openSUSE 11.1
Version: Beta 3
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: 1kfmm4x02@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx
Found By: Other
How to reproduce:
0) Make sure you have a fresh disk on which to install a new OpenSUSE system.
1) In the "Suggested Partitioning" screen, choose "Partition Based" and press
"Create Partition Setup...".
2) In the "Preparing Hard Disk: Step 1" screen, choose the target disk and
press "Next".
3) In the "Preparing Hard Disk: Step 2" screen, press "Use entire hard disk"
and press "Next".
4) In the "Suggested Partitioning" screen, press "Edit Partition Setup...".
5) In the "Expert Partitioner" screen, delete the suggested swap partition
(double-click on the row and press "Delete..." in the following screen).
6) Switch to the "Partitions" view and Add a new partition (I don't think the
partition type or size are important).
7) Back in the "Partitions" view, select the new partition and press "Edit...".
In the next screen, choose to format the partion as "Swap" and to mount the
partition as "swap".
8) Inspect the contents of the "Partitions" view.
Desired result: The partition you wanted as swap has FS Type "Swap" and Mount
Point "swap".
Actual result: The partition you wanted as swap has no FS Type and no Mount
Point at all.
