First thing I need to know is if mozilla-xulrunner190-gnomevfs is installed or
not since it has strong influence on the expected behaviour.
If it is Firefox just uses the gnome_url_show().
IIRC you could easily check its behaviour by using
"gnome-open file:///home/gp" and see what happens.
