https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=440806 Summary: Installation corrupted partition tables Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fejj@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Recently bought a new Dell desktop machine for home use which came pre-installed with Vista 64bit. 640GB HD was partitioned something like: 20 MB(?): Dell Tools 15 GB: Rescue Disk ~590ish GB: NTFS C: Went to install openSUSE 11 (x86, not x86_64) which suggested shrinking the C: drive down to 250GB. Edited the partition tables, resizing Vista back to 128 GB less than whatever was available (128 GB for Linux). Created an Extended partition, the tool said 129 GB (ok, whatever) First parition I created 20GB as '/' Second partition was 8GB swap Third partition was 50.5GB '/home' and fourth partition as defaults, resulting in 50.5GB '/cvs' Continued... the installation program begins to resize the partition and gets an error (I think it was 1008?). I try installing again, but the partition tool says the table is corrupt so I cannot add/remove/edit any partitions. WTF do I do now? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
