When installing Beta 3 now it is possible to resize a partition to a smaller
size.
I found 3 problems:
1) After clicking OK in the graphical slider for a new size, the reported size
in the black window of the specific partition (say /dev/sda9) is not
immediately updated. The new smaller size only shows up in the "partitions" tab
of the whole disk (say /dev/sda) with the white background. I think that it
changes only when we change views, i.e. if I resize in the white window it will
only update the size when I switch to the black window.
2) It is not possible to increase the size of a partition back, i.e. after
shrinking my sda9 partition from 15 GB to 11GB, I was able to shrink it further
to 10GB, but not to increase it back to 15GB, even though the graphical slide
tool indicates that 15 GB is the maximum (actually it is 16.3 GB, but that is
OK). Any other value greater than the last successful resize (10 GB in this
case) also does not work.
3) After deleting the sda9 partition and recreating it to retest the
enlargement, every time I tried to enlarge back to the maximum size the
reported maximum size increased. First it reported 19GB as maximum, then 26 GB,
and after this second time it showed nothing and complained about inconsistent
partition table.
