https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=436307 Summary: Device mountpoints in /media not being deleted Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 2 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: fred.blaise@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Apparently, rebooting while having devices still mounted under /media, udev (?) may not delete mount points on the system's way down. It does not happen if you unmount it, and remount it manually. So, upon reboot, a new mount point directory is created, and its name has an underscore appended at the end. Example: I have an external hdd used for backups. I forced its mountpoint to be /media/2BIG. If I reboot without unmounting it manually, then its next mount point will be /media/2BIG_. Append an underscore everytime you reboot, you can end up with something like /media/2BIG_______ Thanks. fred -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
