https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=432427 Summary: Installation into encrypted / fails Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Beta 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bitdealer@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=243531) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=243531) Encrypted root not lvm based The installation with fully encrypted root (except /boot) fails because apparently it tries to use "crypto_LUKS" as filesystem and not the real one (ext3 in that case). This is the case for normal, as well as for lvm based installations. Errors: fsck: fsck.crypto_LUKS: not found (obviously :D) .. mount: unknown filesystem type "crypto_LUKS". Please see the attached screenshots for details. How to reproduce: Simply do a normal installation (might be lvm based) except that the "encrypted" box is ticked for /. Also: IMHO it should pop up a warning if one encrypts / but forgets to add an extra (unencrypted) /boot, since this wont work for obvious reasons, before one leaves the partitioner during installation. The same probably is true for a custom lvm based installation although I haven't tried it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
