Ok, at least we don't have a regression where we're missing the hostname...

Did you install Beta2 fresh from a DVD Iso or is this an upgrade?

Also, just to make sure that there are no funny apps starting up when you
login, please let us know what the output of these commands are;

cat ~/.gconf/apps/gnome-session/options/%gconf.xml
ls -l ~/.config/autostart/

And finally, please attach ~/.xsession-errors
