Well, the mode validation information, that you get from the NVIDIA driver log,
is excellent if you start the Xserver with '-logverbose 7'. I see at least 3
issues here.
1. I do not trust the specified configuration in xorg.conf. What's the native
resolution of this monitor/TV? Is it 1280x768, 1360x768 or 1920x1080 or
something else?
2. DDC info of the monitor seems to be bogus, so the mode validation fails.
We need to see a log with verbose loglevel 7 first ("X -logverbose 7").
Then you can disable some of the NVIDIA driver checks by setting the
appropriate options. These are all mentioned in the driver's README.
3. The general DPI/TV Screen issue Egbert mentioned in the previous comment.
Using 'Option "UseEDIDDpi" "FALSE"' and lying about the correct displaysize
by specifying a wrong DisplaySize is the only approach I'm aware of to
workaround this issue. Or just use bigger fonts.
