When I boot my dual dual Opteron system with a Tyan S2895 motherboard, the boot
sequence stalls for about a minute after printing:
mptbase: ioc0: Initiating bringup
mptbase: ioc0: WARNING - Unexpected doorbell active!
mptbase: ioc0: ERROR - Doorbell ACK timeout (count=4999), IntStatus=ffffffff!

after about a minute, it prints:
mptbase: ioc0: WARNING = ResetHistory bit failed to clear!
mptbase: ioc0: ERROR - Diagnostic reset FAILED! (ffffffffh)
mptbase: ioc0: WARNING - NOT READY!
mptbase: ioc0: ERROR - didn't initialize properly! (-1)
mptspi: probe of 0000:12:06.0 failed with error -1


Any idea of what this is and how to fix it?
