I installed the pattern "Qt 4 Development" via YaST which installed the
packages "libqt4-devel" and "libqt4-devel-doc" amongst others. I was able to
run "qtdemo" via Alt-F2 once it had installed but I was unable to run any of
the included example programs as I was told they had not been built. I found
that they were located in "/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/demos/" and
"/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/" so I typed "sudo su" then "qmake"
then "make" to compile them myself.

Some of the examples compiled and some failed as they complained that certain
files were not present. I searched my system and could not find the missing
files. YaST says that all my dependencies are OK.

I had to download the source package from the Trolltech website and extract the
contents so that I could add the missing files one by one. I have written a
list of the files which were missing in the original YaST installation:

/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/demos/mainwindow/titlebarLeft.png
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/demos/mainwindow/titlebarCenter.png
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/demos/mainwindow/titlebarRight.png
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/demos/undo/mainwindow.ui
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/demos/undo/icons/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/desktop/systray/images/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/dialogs/classwizard/classwizard.qrc
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/dialogs/classwizard/images/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/dialogs/licensewizard/licensewizard.qrc
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/dialogs/licensewizard/images/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/network/securecocketclient/encrypted.png
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/sql/drilldown/images/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/sql/drilldown/logo.png
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/sql/masterdetail/images/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/sql/masterdetails/albumdetails.xml
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/tools/undoframework/images/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/widgets/stylesheet/images/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/widgets/stylesheet/layouts/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/widgets/stylesheet/qss/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/widgets/validators/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/uitools/multipleinheritance/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/script/marshal/*
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/script/defaultprototypes/code.js
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/script/calculator/calculator.js
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/script/calculator/calculator.ui
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/script/tetrix/tetrixboard.js
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/script/tetrix/tetrixpiece.js
/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/script/tetrix/tetrixwindow.js

Hopefully someone may remake the package again so that all the required files
are included in the YaST installation.

Additionally, one of the files
(/usr/share/doc/packages/libqt4/examples/tools/plugandpaint/plugandpaint.pro)
contains an error. I found a solution on the Mandriva forum (after a Google
search) which solved it for me. Perhaps this can also be fixed? The forum
thread is http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?t=91735

Thank you for your time!
