https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=423119 Summary: Wireshark hangs when executed from Gnomesu Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: lchiquitto@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer On OpenSUSE 11.0, if I run wireshark by pressing ALT-F2, it automatically launches gnomesu to obtain root privileges. It will also systematically hang when starting to capture packets. The problem seems related to the dumpcap process - spawned to capture the packets - which keeps looping, trying to write to a broken pipe: getsockopt(3, SOL_PACKET, PACKET_STATISTICS, "\4\0\0\0\4\0\0\0", [8]) = 0 write(1, "eth0\t14790\t13520\n", 17) = -1 EPIPE (Broken pipe) --- SIGPIPE (Broken pipe) @ 0 (0) --- -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
