Sorry but a buggy boot script and/or not resolved dependencies and/or
broken configuration is not within the responsibility of the insserv
author. And it seems that the boot scripts /etc/init.d/avahi-daemon
and /etc/init.d/avahi-dnsconfd are a bitbroken. But this is IMHO not
the reason of the problem as insserv only writes warnings to stderr.
It would be perfect if both scripts would include a
# Required-Stop: $network $remote_fs dbus
for avahi-daemon script and
# Required-Stop: $remote_fs avahi
for the avahi-dnsconfd script within the INIT INFO section.
Beside this: for debugging you may try out to enable/disable
the SuSEfirewall2 boot scripts with insserv. With the latest
insserv from factory I've no problems to do
insserv /etc/init.d/SuSEfirewall2_init /etc/init.d/SuSEfirewall2_setup
ls -1 /etc/init.d/*.d/*SuSEfirewall2_*
/etc/init.d/rc3.d/K01SuSEfirewall2_setup
/etc/init.d/rc3.d/K09SuSEfirewall2_init
/etc/init.d/rc3.d/S01SuSEfirewall2_init
/etc/init.d/rc3.d/S17SuSEfirewall2_setup
/etc/init.d/rc4.d/K01SuSEfirewall2_setup
/etc/init.d/rc4.d/K09SuSEfirewall2_init
/etc/init.d/rc4.d/S01SuSEfirewall2_init
/etc/init.d/rc4.d/S17SuSEfirewall2_setup
/etc/init.d/rc5.d/K01SuSEfirewall2_setup
/etc/init.d/rc5.d/K09SuSEfirewall2_init
/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S01SuSEfirewall2_init
/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S17SuSEfirewall2_setup
and
insserv -r /etc/init.d/SuSEfirewall2_init /etc/init.d/SuSEfirewall2_setup
ls -1 /etc/init.d/*.d/*SuSEfirewall2_*
ls: cannot access /etc/init.d/*.d/*SuSEfirewall2_*: No such file or
directory
to enable and disable the services.
