https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=421258 Summary: On update to 11.1 Alpha2, if there are package conflicts, "Replace packageX by packageY" if selected, will appear again after "OK - Check again" Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Alpha 2 Platform: PC OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Keywords: Customer_Relevant, dogfood, DSLA_REQUIRED, interop, UI, Usability Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: antoine.mechelynck@belgacom.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer Updating (from 11.0) to 11.1 Alpha2 Package conflicts are found so I have to "Change => Packages" For each conflict (there are a huge lot of them) I see 2 or 3 possible "resolutions", in many cases one of them is "Replace packageX by packageY" (where packageX is a package from the distribution being updated from and packageY is a package from 11.1 Alpha). Whenever I select that "Replace" item, the same conflict appears again after clicking "OK - Check again" at bottom left, even though packageX is now marked as "Remove" and packageY as one of the variants of "Update" in the underlying yast2-like packages list. This makes the update impossible: I never succeeded to get further than the point where I am told that "there are package conflicts, manual action is necessary". Finally I had to shutdown, go to sleep, and reboot openSUSE 11.0 in the morning. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
