https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=419800 Summary: abcde quotes some variables incorrectly Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: geoff@cs.hmc.edu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User Created an attachment (id=235072) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=235072) Patch to correct reported bug I hope I've guessed right on the component. BTW, I would have reported this upstream, but I couldn't figure out abcde's maintainer. :-( In openSuSE 11.0, abcde's quoting of configuration-file variables has been improved so that at least some special characters can be used in config files without quoting. The canonical meme used is: x="$(eval echo ""$CONFIGVARIABLE"")" which allows CONFIGVARIABLE to contain any unquoted character except backslash, reverse quote, or dollar sign. Unfortunately, the changes were not made systematically, so there are still some variables that use a different evaluation method, making it difficult for scripts that call abcde to generate a correct configuration file. The attached patch will correct all the remaining uncorrected variable assignments so that all variables are treated consistently. This patch also corrects one other very minor bug: although the message "Erase, Apped to, or Keep the existing playlist file?" offers a default of erase, entering a null string would not select the default. This is the correction to line 1442 in the patch. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
