https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=419517 Summary: unable to create a swap partition with the expert partitioner Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Alpha 2 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: aschnell@novell.com ReportedBy: jdsn@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Development During install using the expert partitioner a user is unable to create a swap partition if he chooses to create a custom partition setup. The filesystem id always returns to 0x83 instead of the selected 0x82. And in the "Mount Point" ComboBox the entry "swap" is missing. Related to this problem is the meaning of the RadioButtons. IMHO the "Format the partition" should be a CheckBox and only disable the filesystem ComboBox. The filesystem id setting should remain active in any case. This is not possible with the current UI. Example for creating a swap partition: Needs to be formatted as swap, id needs to be changed to 0x82 -> This not possible yet. It is nice if it changes automatically in the background, sure, but this is not very intuitive. Remember, it is an expert partitioner. As an expert I want to be able to change everything. .. same for "Mount Partition", this can also become a single CheckBox. It is less to read, less cluttered and much more intuitive. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
