https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=418764 Summary: Git cannot create a new commit Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: taw27@cam.ac.uk QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=234485) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=234485) Shell session illustrating the problem In openSUSE 11.0, the packaged version of 'git' is unable to create new commits, failing with an "invalid object" error message. A console log showing a session is attached. To reproduce: follow the commands executed in the attached log. I've deliberately used a public Git repository in this log, however the same problem occurs on other repositories as well. I suspect this may be closely related to bug number 408897 ("git-svn 'fetch' broke in opensuse 11.0"). Git from openSUSE 10.3 (also on x86_64) has no such problems. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
