Hmm... hal-disable-polling setting is persistent, so automount shouldn't be
happening.  I'm still trying to determine whether the failure is caused by
media presence polling.  Can you please do the followings?

1. If you keep a media in the drive from the boot, does the problem occur?

2. If you keep accessing the drive, say, "while true; do cat /dev/sr0 >
/dev/null; done", does it happen?

3. If you disable polling, does it happen?
