[Bug 414181] Changes to applications config not reflected until logout / login

Same problem. Updates to desktop are not reflected. I also found that changing the name of a desktop Icon when running KDE3 had the following strange effects when switching back to KDE4. An icon named "Gramps" when renamed to "family tree" under KDE3 ended up with a file type family tree under KDE4??
