Well, stellarium works for me with the radeonhd driver, which doesn't provide
any 3D support at all at the moment (X requires 99% CPU), but I'm already
running openSUSE 11.1 Alpha1. I'm afraid you would need to figure out first,
which drivers work and which don't. It works also in Xnest for me (of course
also Software Rendering). Maybe you need to build and run it against Mesa
7.1-pre. In case you're brave you could update the X.Org and Mesa packages in
our buildservice (project X11:XOrg) to get there.
I'm not aware that SUSE ever shipped stellarium. Therefore downgrading with
YaST2 doesn't seem to be an option here. Possibly you still find the sources
for 0.9.0 somewhere.
Thanks for reporting this issue upstream!
