https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=411315 Summary: Patch of 2008-07-22 Severely Degraded Video Response Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mglenn@cco.state.oh.us QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Created an attachment (id=229350) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=229350) Zypper Log I don't know what happened, but after letting the openSuSE Updater this morning, my system's video response has gone to pot. Refresh times are now in the 1-2 second range for each vireo event, rendering the system very difficult to use. Turning off Desktop Effects using the Simple CompizConfig Settings Manager greatly improves the situation. I note the following entries in zypper.log: xorg-x11-driver-video-7.3-138.3.i586(openSUSE-11.0-Updates) xorg-x11-server-extra-7.3-110.7.i586(openSUSE-11.0-Updates) xorg-x11-server-7.3-110.7.i586(openSUSE-11.0-Updates) xorg-x11-Xvnc-7.3-110.7.i586(openSUSE-11.0-Updates) Perhaps these are the culprits?
