https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=403134 Summary: shutdown hangs after kernel update to 2.6.22.18-0.2 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: linux@daniel-bauer.com QAContact: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- 2 days ago I updated the kernel using the opensuse-Updater. Since then shutdown hangs after the message "Shutting down D-Bus daemon". I attach the complete /var/log/messages of such a session. Inserted a comment where I pressed ctrl-alt-delete to force the reboot. This worked, but of course I got a lot of messages from reiserfs because the disks wern't unmounted properly before. After this reboot (plus logging in to KDE 3, sending an e-mail) I could shutdown normally. The problem didn't exist with the previous kernel version. All hardware details about my laptop can be found in the attachement here: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398135#c1 I saw https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=331747 but as that bug talks about a hang after the very last message and here it occurs at an earlier message I open a new bug... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
