https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=399238 Summary: simple-ccsm made my account un-usable ... Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mmeeks@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I installed strange, wonderful, new radeonhd 3D drivers: tested them, they work for glxgears. I run simple-ccsm - and click the "turn on 3D effects" button. everything breaks, wedges, the whole screen turns white - and I get an extraordinary cube thing: CPU goes to 100% this is not entirely unexpected ;-) I kill X, log-out, log-in again: guess what - I get the same brokenness. Except - now of course I can't run simple-ccsm to un-check the check-box ;-) Worse : I have no idea what that did to turn on compiz; poking Rodrigo on IRC reveals: rm -f ~/.config/compiz/enable-compiz ~/.config/compiz/compiz-manager is what I want to do. My request is: please - delay creating these files until there is a 'normal' (ie. clean) exit from simple-ccsm [ ie. one not caused by Zapping the X server or whatever ]. Also - I guess as rodrigo says - in some corner cases, it may be worth turning off session auto-save but ...
